Communicate 2 Connect Baltimore is a private, speech-language therapy practice in Baltimore County, MD. Our mission is to provide our clients with skills to be successful communicators!
We are dedicated to providing specialized care for young children and their families. We use dynamic assessment and evidence-based approaches to help children develop communication and improve their feeding skills, ensuring they achieve their fullest potential in a supportive environment.
Our Services
We offer a wide range of assessment and treatment options, including individual and group treatment, education and training for professionals, clients, and families!
We are a private-pay practice utilizing a HIPAA-compliant EHR and practice management software for client care and billing.
We will work with clients to help support insurance reimbursement for services on a case by case basis.
Meet Alicia
Alicia Barger holds a Masters of Science degree from Loyola University Maryland, the Certificate of Clinical Competence of the American Speech-
Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and Maryland State Licensure. She is also PROMPT trained. She has developed a Myofunctional “Tongue Thrust” program (The SPOTT Program) for children and adults.
In addition to private practice, Alicia was a clinical faculty member at her alma mater, Loyola University Maryland, for 13 years, receiving tenure and a promotion to associate professor in the spring of 2024.
Alicia's previous experience also includes working as an SLP at The Maryland School for the Blind and in Baltimore City Public Schools.
She has been practicing speech-language pathology for 25 years.
Alicia lives in Baltimore with her husband, Michael, and daughter, Maggie. She loves to travel, ride horses, garden, bake and practice yoga!

Summer Days at the Cottage Garden 2025
June 5th and 6th, July 17th and August 19th and 21st
- Each day is a 3-hour immersive experience for young children ages 3-6.
- In our summer series, children will have one-on-one time with Alicia Barger, M.S., CCC-
SLP exploring pre-literacy strategies, social skills, speech, language, food exposure and immersive sensory development through plants/planting, outdoor play, interactions with friendly insects and critters and many more fun summer activities. - Group ratio will not exceed 3( children) to 1 (counselor).
Daily Schedule:
8:45-9: Arrival
9-9:30: The Gather ( Social Skills and Story Time)
9:30-10:30: Stations: The Hunt, The Garden, The Game, The Craft) 10:30-11: The Prep (preparing snack)
11:00-11:30: The Snack
11:30-11:45: The Wrap
11:45-12: Pick-up
Payment Options:
$150 per child/per day for 3 hours. Sign up for all 5 dates, $600/per child Sign up for 4 dates, $525/per child Sign up for 3 dates, $400/per child
